Today’s hop is all about Paper Pumpkin Alternatives. I’m must still be in a Christmas in July mood because when I saw the stamp set for this month’s Paper Pumpkin I wondered why there was a Christmas Tree stamp in the box. So, let’s take a look at my Christmas-themed alternatives which use a lot of products from the upcoming July-December Mini Catalog.
Today’s Project
Aren’t these just the cutest Christmas cards?! Three of them were made from just one of the cards in the kit. I used the background, the overlay, and the lanterns to create these alternatives.
Alternative #1
For this card, I took the background out of one of the cards and stamped the cabin from the Peaceful Cabin in the new June – December Mini Catalog. I love this set. It has a wonderful cabin image, a fence, some trees, a cute little fox and some great sentiments. I colored the roof and snow elements with some Wink of Stella. The sentiment is from the same set. Isn’t this such a peaceful scene?
Alternative #2
This is one of my favorite alternatives. It’s so festive and fun! Melon Mambo blends turned camper into a glamper. Two of the trees from the kit fit nicely behind the camper as did the little blue tree in front. Blends colored rhinestones trimmed the trees!
Alternative #3
For this card, I used the inside of the card with the lantern. First, I stamped the tree from the kit using Mossy Meadow, stamped off once. Second, I added the overlay stamp using full strength Mossy Meadow. Finally, the Real Red Rhinestones decorated the tree. The same tree was used on the envelope and inside. I love how the firefy lights turned into Christmas stars!
Alternative #4
For this alternative, I cut off the lantern and put in a piece of the Whimsy and Wonder DSP from the upcoming July-December Mini Catalog. You are going to love all the fun new products in the new catalog! The rhinestones are from the Holiday Rhinestones in the Annual Catalog. The sentiment is from the kit. Finally, I used a piece of DSP to cover the envelope flap.
Alternative #5
This is my absolute favorite alternative. I took three of the lanterns from kit and strung them through some Real Red Braided Linen Trim ( on sale in the Clearance Rack)! Then, I topped them with bows tied with the same ribbon. I stamped the holly from another upcoming set, Sparkle of the Season using Shaded Spruce ink. Next, I popped the lanterns and leaves up using dimensionals. Finally, I embellished the flowers, the senitment, and the neveloped uwing Real Red Rhinestones. Finally, the Tasteful Textile embossing folder added some texture to the card front.
Now it’s time for some more collaborative fun. Grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the hop! You should find some awesome ideas and inspiration as others share their projects made with the Waves of the Ocean suite.
If you’d like to try to recreate this card, you can find a list of the products I used at the end of this post. Need a demonstrator or a catalog? Drop me a line and I’ll put one in the mail. And, f you ever have any questions, please feel free to comment or email me. And, don’t forget to Pin this post so you can find it again!

Do many beautiful alternative cards I don’t know which one I like best. I do love the addition of the ‘cabin’ image in #1. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
